October 7th 2011 -   FIRST HONORARY FREEMAN OF SALFORD PRIORS
Two former Salford Priors councillors were awarded the title Honorary Freeman of the Parish at a civic reception on Friday 7 October. It was conferred on ex-chairman Kim James, who was a member of the parish council for twenty-six years and Cllr. Reg Francis who has served the community in various roles for thirty-seven years.
More than ninety local residents attended the ceremony, which also recognised the work done by retired parish councillor Peggy Pane, district councillor Brian Slaughter and former parish clerk Eddie Clarke.
A Parliamentary bill, passed last year, enabled all local councils to confer honorary titles to those who, in the council’s opinion, had rendered eminent service to their communities.
Cllr. James continues to represent Salford Priors as a member of Stratford District Council.

June 2nd 2011 - On Wednesday 29th June at 7.00pm members of the Parish Council will be inspecting the parish allotments at the end of Ridsdale Close in Salford Priors and meeting with the allotment holders.  This is an opportunity for anyone interested in taking up an allotment plot to come and see what is available and discuss the details with both councillors and existing users.

May 18th 2011 - Cllr. Reg Francis tendered his resigination at the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council. Cllr. Francis said he had enjoyed his 39 years on the council but now felt it was time to step down. The Council thanks him for his long standing service to the community and wishes him well for the future.
This opens a vacancy on the Parish Council which will be advertised by Startford District Council in due course.
